Walking Around Bucerias

Deb asked me if I could get some pictures to show some of the walking hazards around town. In our area, (Zona Dorado) they have resurfaced the main road with patterned concrete. Here the road is the safest place to travel. All the side roads are still cobblestones.

In the village of Bucerias, there are only cobblestones, so it is usually best to walk on the sidewalks.

Steps lead up from the beach to the central square.
We find a new sculpture on the square.
Sidewalks are narrow and steps go up into most stores.
Going around a corner might involve several different levels.
These cobblestones are actually very level.
Beware of changes of surface, of heights and of lighting.
This is the main road from the highway into the village.
There are posts and steps interfering with the sidewalk. The curb might drop off three feet.
The sidewalk might disappear completely.

A restaurant might force you out onto the road.
Beware of holes and steps and posts and people.
Preparation is underway for the festival this weekend. The streets will be filled with people, many of them dressed in their finest. Many will wear spike heels as they participate in the mayhem.
The village square has recently been torn apart and then put back together again. It is new, but it is still built on many different levels.
