Porto is famous for its wines (primarily ports) and the Douro River is famous for its Vineyards (Quintas).

| There was less than two feet of space on each side as well as fore and aft. |

| The helm and conning tower were lowered so we could fit under the bridge. |

| As we entered the lock, a crew member stood on each side with a walkie-talkie, guiding the captain. When exiting the lock, the captain left the bridge and manned a second set of controls on the starboard side of the ship. |
