Norris Point Arrival

Just before leaving Twillingate, we filled up our water bottles because we had about a five hour drive to get to Norris Point. This is in Gros Morne National Park. The waitress suggested that we look out for signs that warned of parked cars and pedestrians along the side of the road. These signs did not say anything about fresh water springs, but each indicated the presence of such a spring. Here we could fill our bottles with the cleanest and freshest water anywhere. We did see several signs and springs, but there really were no markings so we saw them only as we passed them by. At each spring there were trucks filling large blue water jugs. We were not meant to have any.

As we neared Norris Point we started to see snow in the hills. We were getting higher and it was getting chillier.

Our hotel had a little porch on the front looking down over the harbour.

This was our view from the from porch.

From our back door we looked out at a large mass of snow in the mountains. It turned out that this was our first view of "The Tableland".
