When we left the ship, a half hour Uber ride took us to Haarlem, a smaller town west of Amsterdam. We came to see a parade.
Haarlem's centre is a large pedestrian arcade with pedestrians everywhere. Our hotel is on the main street, with cafes in front and restaurants in virtually every building. It is a very busy and energetic area. We just wandered for a while until lunch was needed.
Drawbridges on the canals ease boat traffic.
Beautiful buildings
Facing the canal
Not an old windmill, but still very nice.
Another lunch, this time at the windmill
