Certaldo is a medieval village built atop the Chiani Region of Tuscany. It is almost entirely made of terra cotta bricks. It was raining when we were there, but we had a great guide who was full of information. She led Debby to touch and feel the details, which was quite wonderful.
I cannot explain all the pictures, so I will show you some of the sights.
The Vicar (magistrate) was appointed from Florence and served only a six month term. Each vicar left a coat of arms or some distinctive artifact.
Then there are more pictures.
